    Recipe: Tibetan Bread (India)

    • 1 cup of plain white flour
    • Half a cup of milk
    • A pinch of sugar
    • A pinch of salt
    • A tea-spoon of baking powder
    • Sunflower oil (or olive oil if you prefer)

Mix all ingredients and form a dough. Put it in a tupperware container and seal for about 5 – 10min. Roll it flat on a floury surface into a round shape of about 15cm in diameter. Cross 2 vertical lines with a knife over the bread. Preheat a frying pan with a generous amount of oil and fry at medium heat until light golden on both sides. Serve with honey or jam or eat on its own – delicious with masala chai!

How to make Tibetan Bread - Nepalese Bread: This recipe was passed on to me by a local in Nepal. It is very easy to make and probably not what you expect a bread to taste like. Instead of baking their bread, they fry it. Give it a try! It's yummy!
