Serendipity Tess, the Discovery Blogger
Having both worked in the tourism industry and in marketing for many years (at some point I was running my own little travel company), I’m aiming to incorporate my experiences into my work as a travel blogger. Travel Blogs have become an invaluable resource for the modern traveler; in fact a lot prefer to read travel blogs to research on a particular destination instead of solely relying on guidebooks.
Being a travel blogger means you spend countless of hours researching the web for suitable itineraries which makes you an expert in the field very quickly. By being open to the ‘unknown’ and letting serendipity lead me, I often ‘accidentally’ and ‘fortunately’ discover places that you’ll rarely read about in guidebooks. I want to show that the world is not a dangerous place and that local encounters have the power to transform us.
I love everything that is out-of-the-ordinary and pushes me out of my comfort zone. Sometimes I stay in hostels, sometimes I indulge in luxury. Sometimes I eat street food, other times I dine in Michelin-starred restaurants. Sometimes I walk on glaciers or trek for two weeks to the highest pass in the world – other times I take it easy and Spa or engage in Mindful Activities, like Yoga. I like to encourage my readers to try out new things!
Travel Deeper. Travel to Grow.
HdddMy goal is to tell engaging stories about my unexpected encounters and unveil secret paths off-the-beaten-track, mostly, whilst also providing helpful advice to readers who plan to visit the world’s most beautiful destinations. Following my posts means you experience what it means to be a traveller as a guest in someone else’s country as opposed to what it means to be a mere visitor. Hopefully it will also encourage you to find your own adventure in life and follow your highest excitement.
If I encouraged you to live the life of your dreams – I’ve fulfilled my purpose.
I believe in order to understand the soul of a country, I need to immerse myself in its culture. In order to do that, I’d love to offer an account of ‘life as it really is’ through the eyes of the locals and share their wisdom through discussions with them.
I’m hoping to pass on the wisdom gathered along my paths.
Travel with Purpose.
The emphasis on sustainable travel by giving back to the communities I travel to, is something I feel very strongly about. If I can make a difference in people’s lives while I get to do what I love, then I truly reached my goal! Responsible travel is about honouring the destinations you travel to and supporting local communities whilst doing so. Be it through unexpected encounters or by finding charities I feel a connection to, or volunteering on the way – there is always a way to give back.
