Now this was an interesting find when I wandered through the streets of Hanoi one morning. I had seen several signs of this peculiar egg coffee throughout my stay in Hanoi and then one day I tried. OMG. Why have I not tried this before? It looks like a dessert and it tastes like one too. The frothy egg mixture on top of the coffee tastes a bit like a delectable coffee mousse. And the best part? It is so easy to make it yourself! Here is how to make Vietnamese Egg Coffee!
What you need
For 1 cup.
Boiling water
1 egg
3 tsp of Vietnamese coffee powder
2 tsp of sweetened condensed milk
Preparation
Brew a small cup of Vietnamese coffee. Crack an egg open and discard of the egg white. In a small bowl, add the egg yolk and the sweetened condensed milk and whisk until you have a frothy consistency. Add a tablespoon of the brewed coffee and whisk again. Pour the brewed coffee into a cup and add the frothy egg mixture on top. Easy Peasy.
Enjoy!
